Conflict of interest
I am an artist first and foremost. I’m currently wrestling with wanting to create and creating (on behalf of others) for money. The first is the “poor artist” who might make it some day and the second is someone like me.
Part of me is currently craving large oil painting, writing/recording music, stone sculpture and abstract photography (and just looking at that list, the common denominator is that they are all technology-free!). If you spend your day working with fiddly code and pixels then you need to get away and breathe - and that’s what I would like to do soon.
Here’s the last painting I created. It’s called “Glory in the potential” and I painted it in 2005 and it was in an exhibition last year (or the year before) called Glory. It was even longer ago when I wrote and recorded a song.
If I am going to enjoy my career as a business owner/web designer I have to balance that with some really BIG personal creative projects.
Having such a big and young family I’m going to have to book precious time off for this so watch this space!
